Who This Program Is For
Junior Athletes
Our program is welcoming to all athletes in grade 3-6 of all experience and ability levels who wish to pursue SPRINTS or DISTANCE and develop their skills
Multi-Sport Benefits
At this age, it is healthy for athletes to participate in multiple sports or activities but track and field should be a priority to you (Top 3 activities). Through track and field, you will become a better runner and athlete which translates into all other sports as well.
Event Group Training
Specialized coaching in your chosen discipline
SPRINTS
Head Coach: Jesse Campigotto Assistant Coaches: Joel Chesney, Sandy Huibers
60m-400m sprints. Focus on speed development, power, and technical precision.
Typical Week: 3 practices including speed and power work (hills), technical drills, and strength training
Current Schedule: Mondays 6 pm @ Canada Games Park, Wednesdays 6 pm @ Hydro Hill, Saturdays 10 am @ Canada Games Park
HURDLES (an extension of Sprints)
Head Coach: Brian Wilson Assistant Coaches: Ron Dupuis
Sprint Hurdles (60/80 m) and Intermediate Hurdles (200 m). Focus on speed development, power, and technical development and precision - as an extension of sprints.
Typical Week: 1 practice on top of sprints
Current Schedule: Sundays 9 am @ Canada Games Park
JUMPS (an extension of Sprints)
Long jump, triple jump, high jump. Technical skill development with power training.
Typical Week: 1 horizontal or vertical jumps practice on top of sprints
Current Schedule: To Be Finalized with athletes and coaches
DISTANCE & CROSS COUNTRY
Head Coach: Al Deschamps
Assistant Coaches: Holly Deyarmond, Madison Eaton (May to July), Fenway Breckels (May to July)
Long Run Coordinator: Thomas Craig
800m-1500m track events and cross country racing. Endurance development with structured training phases.
Typical Week: 3-4 practices including tempo runs, intervals, long runs, strength/mobility, technical components, and recovery
Current Schedule: Mondays 6 pm @ Canada Games Park, Wednesdays 6 pm @ Hydro Hill, Saturdays 10 am @ Canada Games Park, Sunday LONG RUNS vary and sometimes independent

EFFICIENCY
Practices will follow a set structure and will be conducted with focus and intent, respecting the athletes' time as well as the parents'
EXECUTION
Focus on the task at hand and execute each drill, rep, or race with precision and to the best of your abilities
ENERGY
Always spend our energy on things that make our athletes, our program, and the club better! Anything that fdoes not accomplish this goal is wasted energy!
EDUCATION
True development happens when an athlete understands the WHY behind a workout; our coaches are also committed to professional development and expanding their own knowledge
EXCELLENCE
Excellence in our program isn't defined by the colour of a medal but by achieving personal bests and demonstrating commitment to a higher standard both on and off the track
