Coach Fife began his career in coaching track & field in the Spring of 2012 unaware of what the future would bring when he agreed to revive the track team at Thorold Secondary School, which had been non-existent for a few years prior. Fife believes that track was something that chose him, not the other way around.

With little to work with, Fife slowly built up the Thorold track program, creating opportunities for student-athletes and helping them to achieve high levels of success. Within five years, the team had reached a pinnacle point, winning the Overall Boys Team & Midget Team Zone Championships in 2016, taking record numbers of athletes to OFSAA, and setting over 30 new school records at Thorold Secondary that still stand today. The team was one of the top three performing teams in SOSSA (Southern Ontario Secondary Schools Athletic Association).

Following the success of the 2016 season, Fife decided to transition from a school team to a club program, opening doors for athletes all across Niagara who would now have the opportunity to access additional and affordable training and competitions. One of Fife's primary goals is to increase participation in the sport in Niagara and the Thorold Elite Track Club is well on its way to achieving that goal.

A former casting recruiter for reality television shows, Fife has always had a strong ability to see the potential talent in people and to bring it out of them. Fife continues to use his recruiting talents in the track & field world, looking for athletes who may be able to excel in track given the right training and opportunities. Often times, track is not on their radar (like it wasn't for Fife originally), but with some openmindedness and a willingness to try something new, these athletes have realized a new passion and achieved excellent results. Fife has discovered and coached athletes ranging from Zone/SOSSA Champions to AO/MTA Provincial Champions and those who have gone on to compete at Nationals - including 2018 National Champion DeAndre Fournier, whom Fife recruited at one of his grade 8 track meets three years prior.

When not coaching, Fife is a teacher and tutor and continues to do freelance work in reality television casting when his schedule allows (it currently doesn't).
