TRAINING PROGRAMS

TETC Design 5.jpg

We offer affordable and high quality training for Sprints, Middle Distance, Long Distance, Cross Country, Hurdles, Jumps, Throws, and Combined Events. All ages, all events, and all ability levels. (Note: Some events like hurdles and javelin do not begin until a certain age).

We are Niagara's most active and most successful Track & Field club. We have produced more OFSAA Qualifiers and more provincial and national medalists than any other local track clubs since our inception in 2016.

Our training consists of larger group practices and smaller, event-specific practices. This combination allows us to build a sense of community and team by allowing athletes of all disciplines to interact and train together some times, while also allowing more individual coaching and attention within event groups.

INFORMATION BELOW UPDATED FOR 2021

*All Practices follow Local/ Provincial and Athletics Ontario safety guidelines/ restrictions*

Indoor Training: We offer a fully LOCAL indoor training program that is unmatched by anyone in the province. We have indoor practices for sprints, hurdles, throws, and jumps. We have transformed local spaces into track training facilities with indoor throwing circles, high jump mats, portable track lines for sprints and hurdles, and other equipment needed for high-performance training. Weights programs are offered through our partners at Iron Performance Center in St. Catharines and strength & conditioning (primarily for our athletes 12 and under) is offered through Crossfit905 in Niagara Falls. For more specific information about our indoor training opportunities please contact Coach Fife at thoroldelitetc@gmail.com

Outdoor Training: The outdoor season begins with generalized conditioning to build fitness and then branches off into more event-specific training. Outdoor practice times, dates, and locations vary throughout the region but are communicated to athletes and parents in advance. Please see the online calendar or contact Coach Fife for more information.

Note: Participating in the weight training is an added cost on top of the regular membership fees as this is an optional extra that we have available to athletes who choose to take part.

Strength & Conditioning Training

Our U13 and younger athletes, as well as older athletes who have opted not to participate in Iron Performance Training, have strength & conditioning training available to them through our relationship with Crossfit905 in Niagara Falls.

This is a great way to keep active and continue building strength. These workouts are more generalized to all events and movements in athletics.

Training takes place Monday/ Wednesday/ Friday at 5:00 pm and athletes may attend up to two sessions per week. All training follows health and safety protocols for COVID-19 and equipment is sanitized/ disinfected before and after use.

Note: Participating in the weight training is an added cost on top of the regular membership fees as this is an optional extra. Athletes pay the club back $5 for every session they attend to help cover the cost that we have paid out for the training.
